    Bayliner 2252-gctid397868

For once it seems I an writing with no known problems. After owning this boat about a year, we finally had a successful trip to the lake in her. No fault of the boat. We just work entirely too much, and the boat had some repairs it needed, so I have been too busy to think about fun!

With a new upper outdrive installed we put the boat in, and idles out away from the no wake zone. When I put the power to her, she would not plane for anything. I instantly thought oh crap we have the wrong ratio in the drive. After a few minutes I realized the stupid captain (me!) had her trimmed too high! I trimmed her down and she instantly planed out and took off. What a great boat.

Speaking of trim, boy those trim tabs are neat huh? Get one wrong and it yaws the boat kinda like cross controlling a airplane! I got em where I was happy with them, and learned to leave them alone! I was real pleased with the boat today, and FINALLY I think my wife is getting it that boating can be fun!

We really like our 2252, did yours already have trim tabs or did you put them on yourself?

We bought our 2252 very used! It was already equipped with them. I'm not sure I'm in love with them, but I guess someday I may have enough load in the boat to justify them. As I said when not coordinated it sure gives a funny ride!

I have Bennet trim tabs on mine that I installed myself. Great option. You will find they can help you plane quicker stay on plane at a slower speed as well as keep your boat level in all kinds of varing sea conditions.

            Finally a 2252 thread!

What MPG's and top speed are you getting with the 5.7?

And how about some pictures? I need ideas for modifications/accessories, etc.

I bought a Brutus this weekend and I have to install it before crabbing opens Sunday! Have to decide where to put it.

Yes, finally some 2252 chat! Mine is a 4.3, and no real numbers yet. I can say this much though, with two adults and three young children on board she has plenty of power for me!
