Went out on the after deck on my 3870 and took the cover off my new, never run before, Champion 3100 remote start generator. I new I had to but in oil, which I did. Put in gas. Turned on fuel and the two switches that I was supposed to. Pressed the remote start button and nothing, absolutely nothing. I called Champion customer service and the tec. asked me if I put in the oil? I said yes. Did you put in gas? Yes I did. Did you hook up the battery? Are you kidding me!!! I felt like a dummy, a big dummy. I took off the panel on the end of the unit that said "Battery" and hooked it up. Turned on the gas, turned on the two switches, pressed the start button on the remote and SHAZAM it started right up.

Hi Rick, and thanks for the advise. I was going to say that all of this was the admiral's doings. But then I would end up wearing the generator instead of starting it.

She went out and bought a brand new toaster oven. By the time I arrived, she was fit to be tied because she couldn't get it to work properly and burnt our dinner.
Within seconds, I discovered the problem - she'd forgotten some of the packaging inside it. "Why didn't I look in there?" she inquired.
"Well, dear," I responded, "you just need to be a little bit smarter than a toaster oven. Can you do that?"
There was a very looooong pause, followed by a very stern look.
Thankfully, she eventually started laughing .....then married me anyway. But I tell ya, that was one long pause.
HOWEVER, .....now whenever I'm having a problem with something, she is quick to use the words, "You just need to be a little bit smarter than ....."
I usually follow up with, "....And you pay! ....And you pay! ........And you pay!"
Wearing the generator..... Yeah, ....I hear ya. B)
