Looks like Someone Is having A Bad Weekend In Burlington Vt.-gctid808947

Someone's 55' boat went up last night in Mallets Bay on Lake Champlain. Also earlier in the day 3 ot pitched out of a canoe over in the same area. One drowned as a result. Pretty busy day for rescue crews over in Vermont.

My son drove by there last night when the boat was fully engulfed. Boat fires are always impressive and sad to see. It sounds like some quick thinking by marina staff prevented further damage.

Sad to hear about the canoe drowning. In spite of warnings about cold lake temps this time of year, people still underestimate how quickly you become helpless without a life jacket.

Put my boat in next door yesterday. Rescue crews looking for the canoeist and Coast Guard helicopters in the air. Found the body mid afternoon.

The marina where the fire occurred was not full being early in the season. Probably a good thing or could have been much worse.

Not a good day in Vermont.

Well if your going to throw a match in a pail of gas or diesel, I'll take the diesel any day.

But boats will burn, gas or diesel. Depends on what starts it.
