I used the Allure flooring in my boat on Go Aweigh's recommendation and have had no odor problems as he installed it as well. Here is that link: http://www.baylinerownersclub.org/fo...r-Install-2859

I used the allure and love it. My only recommendations are let it acclimate well and pour leveler on the floor. My floor was uneven and this stuff shows EVERYTHiNG. Wish I would have known. Still is great and no one would notice but me or a floor guy. I also caulked the seems with matching caulk because there is allot of expansion. Either way it looks amazing. Thought I had pics on here somewhere????

I used the same stuff cweirt used. Hardest part was the prep as mentioned...BTW wish I had known about leveler??? Anyway I'd recommend this product from Lowes... certianly was cheap enough

Thanks for the tips on pouring leveler on the floor.

My floor uneven to, its has a little hump in it.

im going to go with the Lowes stuff and play it safe

I was going to rip out my carpet today and replace it with with Allure Ultra...... now I'm not sure. I want to replace the old carpet with vinyl flooring but don't know what to do after reading the blog. Maybe i'll leave it for now and rent a steam cleaner until I figure things out.

                    UPDATE

I put the Allure vinyl planks in my boat last winter and am happy I did. Very easy to install. Looks so much better that that 10 year old carpet and so easy to keep clean.

The only odor I noticed was the missing smell of the old dirty carpet.
