Anybody ever use any of these carfax type services for boats? Worth it or not for a bowrider?

Most problems from boats, IMO, are because of poor maintenance even when a "pro" was paid. There are storm damaged boats out there but unless there's an insurance company involved there would be no tracking. You could probably do a title search yourself to see the ownership history in some states, but it's another shot in the dark. People that have title searches and documentation history are usually in buying vessels over 26 feet or because their lender requires it.
Having a surveyor look it over is the best way to cover yourself.

I wouldn't trust a "boat fax" if it did exist. Only time things get reported is by insurance co or dealers. The last three vehicles I've purchased had great looking carfax reports, no collisions, just good scheduled maintenance records etc. However having previous experience in auto body I could tell that all three had some type of collision repair done.
