My eXtaSea is under performing-gctid397220

I have a 1994 Ceira 2855, I have 2005 Merc 496 MAG ( 375 HP , 8.1 L) on her, but my ExtaSea gets a maximum speed of 33 MPH on full throttle ( 4500 RPM) and I guess she should reach up to 38 to 41 MPH on full thruttle

is that normal ? what could the problem be ? and how can I fix it

the newer 285 powered with smaller engine 396 MAG get the following

Cruising speed of 24 - 25 MPH at 3500 RPM

maximum Speed of 38 MPH at 4500 RPM

so why me with larger and much more powerful engine that is almost new with 245 hours on it dosen't at least get to the same performance?

I have done complete service of the engine and the stern in the Merc Agency it self costing loads of money to keep her in a perfect condition

I am assuming the B3 drive?!

What is the condition of the hull? Is it clean? Are you using your tabs? Weight. Besides the BB do you have a lot of weight in the back of the boat? Also, you are at the very low end of max RPM's at WOT. Has it always been that way?

Something is definitely not right as my previous 1993, 2855 with 7.4l attained 38mph (GPS) @ 4300rpm WOT. Now this engine was a standard 300 prop HP run of the mill and my 2855 was loaded to the gills with add ons making heavier than the average.
