    1989 2459 Trophy Offshore-gctid804782

    Hi all,

I'm new and this is my first post. I am getting my 2459 from my father and I have a question about overall length. The documentation states that the boat is 23'8" but does that include the pulpit and the swim platform? If not, what is the actual length?

    Thank You

Nope, and I have the identical boat. Mind posting a photo? In fact, you almost saw your sistership this weekend, but was told the strait will be kicking up into 20-25kt winds. We are in Sequim, WA.

BTW, I'll be sending you a private message about your boat.

UPDATE: Guess I should add, 23'8" is from the tip of the bow(not including the sprit) to the top of the transom. Actual length - which includes everything from tip to tip with the outdrive up - is almost 30'.

Thanks, I will let you know more information as soon as I get it. The boat is actually in Hamilton Ontario right now and I am awaiting the bill of sale to arrive. Thanks for your response.

Pretty sure the length in the documentation is LOA (length overall) - length of the hull from the tip of the bow (excluding pulpit) to the end of the transom (excluding swim step and sterndrive/outboards).

The manual for the 2556 I bought specifies a LOA of 25' even. When I taped it out, it was just shy of 32' from tip of the pulpit (actually the tip of the railing above the pulpit) to the furthest end of the drive leg tilted up. Add in the bit of the trailer which goes past the pulpit and it was 32' 8". A lot longer than I was expecting, and fortunately just under the max the storage yard would take (33'). So be prepared for its total length to be a *lot* longer than the LOA.

Kinda makes me want to take a sawzall and hack the pulpit off to save a few bucks on storage.

Thanks for the feedback! I had my nephew measure it and it came to 31'and a few inches. I only have room for a 27' boat at the marina I want to put it in, so I am wondering what taking the swim platform off cuts in length?

The outdrive sticks out past the swim platform.

Not sure how accurate your nephew's measuring skills are, but I'm off to my boat and I will take a tape measure with me. That seems quite high.

Maybe he included the kicker as well?

Is it bolted on or formed?

Tip of the bow rail to the tip of the prop, it measured 28'6" with the leg up. Leg down is a hair under 28'.

The bow rail and sprit are 30",

....and the OD sticks out 24" when it is down.

I'd tell your marina about the sprit, because I've berthed mine in a 26' space.

Thanks for all the help! I guess removing the swim platform does nothing to reduce the overall length. I suppose I could remove the bow sprit and have the rail redone. Do you happen to know if the sprit is bolted on?

6 bolts with nuts under. The railing will be a little more fun. Most are bolts with nuts under the fur, but there are a few screws in the mix. You should be able to find a bow rail for this size. You should also be able to sell the sprit and rail to someone who wants to add a windlass.
