    1998 2858 Ciera fuel tank-gctid802561

Im looking at purchasing a 1998 Ciera 2858 that needs some work.. Boat has been sitting for years.. Im a good mechaninc and not much scares me except fiberglass work... Can anyone tell me where the fuel tank is located on this particular boat. is it glassed into the floor.. If it leaks, is it easy to replace? Help! is it steel or aluminum?

The tank is behind the engine against the bulkhead, you can see it from the engine bay, you will notice as you step into boat and down, there are a couple of steps, this is actually the fuel tank you are walking over.

I am not sure how it comes out i but i would imagine you would need to dismantle the internal step to gain access all around it, it would no doubt mean cutting lots of fibre glass i can imagine, its all hidden with carpet so you could easily hide the repair.

I would imagine this is hell of a job to get out!

Thank you for the info.. I got some conflicting data from a few others telling me it was in front of the engine.. yours makes sense after looking at the photos.. another question, Is it possible to remove the Radar tower so it will fit in my shop.. I have 10 ft overhead bay doors???

Yes possible to remove the arch or make it hinged,

Almost all big block 2858 upper SQ steering shaft will leak also,

Don't think 10' door height will be enough, even with the arch removed. My 2556 is 12' to the top of the bridge ladder while on the trailer
