    175BR Swim Platform information ???-gctid389664

I have spent a long time trying to research and find a swim platform for my 2008 Bayliner 175. I recently noticed that the 2012 models have it available as an option. I contacted my local Bayliner parts dealer. They called Bayliner directly and they told me that I could not purchase one for my 08' because the transom was not reinforced enough and they said that it would just crack through. What does everyone think about this?

That is BS; the transom has to hold the drive and all of the engine power pushing the boat.

Best source for aftermarket platforms: http://swim-platform.com/

I've had them, and they are excellent. Beware that the platform company linked farther above makes platforms that weigh more than double, which is an issue on a small boat. I've had both, and I've toured both facilities. I'd always choose swim-platform.com.
