    does anyone have a 454 in their boat and what pitch prop are you using 2855 ciera

        My '97 2855 has a 7.4L carbed w/BIII turning 24P props. This was factory set up.

        WOT is 4400RPM

        Max speed with pristine bottom, light load 42-44mph GPS speed. Sweet spot is 3200-3400RPM - 25MPH GPS speed - 1.8mpg average

            Wow, that's amazing milleage. Are you getting that from a fuel flow meter.

              Nope. Done the old fashioned way. Should have mentioned that mpg is from tracking numerous 220+mile round trips to Door County which we do annually. Start with full tank, add fills on trip and end with full tank and divide total GPS miles by gallons used. For general putzing around boating I use 1.5mpg as my average and it seems fairly accurate but since that includes idling, "hot rodding", hull speed river trips, etc, it's a less accurate number than my sustained cruising to Door County.
