Pay when you pick it up, the trailer is worth that. check the title/registration, too good to be true.

My vote is "typical craigslist scam." Great sound? Are they advertising a stereo or a boat?

That's a scam, no contact info and no info on the boat, there's a ton of those ads on Craigslist.

I've emailed on scams like that. No direct answers to your questions, the owner is always located out of town or just being transferred overseas and has to make a quick deal, one time the ostensible owner was a female in the military.

There's always lots of warning signs before you leave your last dollar under a rock at midnight, expecting the boat to be left in your driveway in the morning.

must have been a scam. Listing has been removed.

This is the reply that I received from CL

Sorry, the posting you're trying to respond to via the anonymous craigslist address [email protected] has expired or has been deleted. Craigslist does not forward messages for expired or deleted postings.

I bought a Jeep off craigslist last week the first day it was listed. When I got home with it I checked the ad to see if it was deleted by owner and it was flagged for removal instead.

That made no sense, the ad was a good honest listing.

I have had my Bayliner flagged for no reason 2 times last year, the person flagging can do it with out reprisal, just meaness or mabe he had a boat like mine for sale, who knows, being flagged may not be for a listing reason.

That being said, I have seen boats on craigslist and other sites that I know are a scam, they use the same photo, they just want your deposit then there gone.

One of the most used scam is they are moving overseas and are forced to sell the boat.

I fellow in our marina has had enough of boating the fuel cost has reached his limit. He puts his 2655 (1988) for 10,000 new top, nice interior, then 8,000 then 6,000 then 4,000 and sold it for $2,500.00. He received one phone call when the add hit 4,000.00 over a 4 month period and managed to sell it. Boats are not moving except down in price and if you can't even get a call from the low ballers or the scammers it's a tough market to be in.

hey, I got mine via Craigslist..... Not all boats offered there are scams.

I don't know how it is elsewhere but here the smaller boats sell fast and high and the larger ones are going slow and low. There are for sure exceptions to that but just looking at the ads leaves that impression.

It's a scam. The boat is described as never having had bottom paint, but that's not what the picture shows. There is no description of substance about the boat.

People flag ads to reduce the competition. Your ad could have been flagged by someone who was selling the same model boat, a boat in the same class, price range, etc.

Same here, I sold my old boat on the Cleveland craiglist. However my add was being flagged every few hours after posting. When I went on craiglist forum to see why it was being flagged, I was told local dealer has multiple accounts and is flagging all boat ads to remove the competition. Its been 5 years ago, I don't know if craiglist is different now but it was very easy to abuse. If you are selling and your ad is being flagged, make sure you follow guidelines and simply keep posting it back.
