Where did the How not to Sell thread go? Anyone remember it?-gctid344371

We had a thread going a while back showing some terrible photos that people use to sell their items.

I could not find that thread.

I did, however, stumble upon this earlier this morning.

I'm always amazed at how little effort some of these guys are willing to put into their photos.

Perhaps keeping the crap in the background from showing, and a leaf blower, would have at least cleaned this one up a bit!

No agenda.... I just thought it was comical.

    Here's his second image.

Looks OK to me. Do you figure those white panels in the background are the rest of the boat?

        Good one!

Judging from the way the engine/drive was removed.... yes!

Actually, that's done quite often at salvage yards. Not cutting the hull up.... but the way the engine was removed.

NO..... I have quite a few other parts also, and I'll make one heck of a deal to any BOC members.

                I just Google'd the ad.

$800..... and it looks like he's throwing in all parts shown.

The clamping collars alone would be valueable to someone.

                  Was that a craigslist ad?

Sometimes I wish craigslist would charge some sort of listing fee just to prevent all the crap on there and overposts.

I think that engine would only be useful as a mooring anchor.

No... the Volvo Penta OHC 4 is an e-Bay auction ad.

I was just poking fun at the photos, and how little time was spent preparing for the photo, of which was zero.

The OHC 4 is an excellent little marine engine, but his photos certainly don't do this one any justice.

It may be in great condition in spite of the rust/dirt/leaves. They're dang near bullet proof.

Thought Rick might enjoy this, it has everything he is looking for- volvo penta and bad organization! From CL...------------------------------I have the complete set up. Leg, gimble, bell housing, wet exhaust, hoses, nuts, bolts, brackets, and so on.All motor parts are for a small block chevy. The outdrive has some pitting from sitting in saltwater but is all very usable or great for parts to fix your boat!$300.00 takes it all!Location: Elvertait's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
