FINALLY, a New Boat... well you know - new to me.-gctid376189

I finally finished the painful process of boat shopping which I hate, and finally did some boat buying, which I love. I'm going today to bring some stuff and spend some time with the PO before I take it home next week. It's an 85 2850 Command Bridge with a single Volvo 7.4 and ss duo prop. She has been really well cared for with lots of fixes: new holding tank and sanitation lines, for example. The woodwork just needs a quick two part clean and will sparkle (maybe I'll do that today). One thing I like, is that the exhaust and raw water intake no longer go through the outdrive, which should help performance and make other maintenance issues easier. Some of you may know the boat. It's coming out of Chrisholm Marina. I'll post more as I know more.Huge thanks to all of you who have helped me along the way.I've put up a photo album but lots of pics won't load so I don't know what's up.http://www.baylinerownersclub.org/fo...hp?albumid=642

Awesome! Congrats! I wish I was heading to the boat today... I'd stop by and say "Hello." But, unfortunately, I won't be heading that way today. How long are you in town for?

      Congratulations on your new mistress.

I would like to hear more about the thru-hull exhaust. Did the PO just weld a piece of aluminum to cover the exhaust port in the sheild? Since your raw water pickup is no longer through the leg, how is that accomplished?

                Thanks everyone.

The Y pipe is plugged with a sort of No Hub looking thing, and the metal intake is plugged from inside the engine room. I'll take closer pics when I get it.

Congrats, Mike! That is one great boat!
