Good day all;Has anyone figured out a way to exhaust the air out of the cockpit area when it is fully enclosed.I just ordered a new top and want to give it the best chance for no mold build up.
Will spraying the underside of the sunbrella with scotch guard help deter mold build up?
I just saw my first mold on the inside front quarter of the bimini top. It's the original cover and I took it down this fall and washed it with a mild soap and then retreated it. I pretty much followed what was on teh sunbrella web site. I presume ours got some mold on it because we take on some rain water from the front windshield that does not drain properly on the port side. A small vent to help the air circulation might help some but it's a big space and like Jim mentioned it's not very air tighht to start off with.
I had the same problem with my down under. I sprayed it with Dettol Antiseptic Solution and one hour later pressure wash it. It has worked a treat and cost me less than $10.00c Cheers, Dave Melbourne, Australia:arr
Had the same thing on my 2355 original bayliner bimini. My new bimini thats aftermarket on my 3055 does not have this issue, much better quality material.
I'm in a dry climate so mold is never a concern. Heat build-up does concern me, so during the warmer days when we still have the Isinglass up because it's cold at night, I just leave a little bit open front and back.

I have the same problem here. Mildew/mold bulds up on the inside of my canvas(sunbrella). Could be all the extra moisture as I am slipped year round. Last year I tried treating with the 303 fabric guard(topside and underside) and keep the rear slightly unzipped to try and help, but slowly the mildew returns.
I am on board to see what the suggestions are.....
