We went with this setup. Boatnumberplate.com
The number plates are made with your numbers on them. Then you glue the plates on your dink. They are very tough and don't come off.
I recommend them.

what Greg said... best bang for the buck and they look great!!!
You do not need the two part glue to apply them on the dink. You can use the one part tube sold at WM but you wil need more than one tube to do both sides...
BTW, I used painters tape to outline where I glued to minimize overage though the glue cleans up nicely using acetone...
The yellow plastic putty spreaders in one photo were used to spread the glue evenly when I applied the plates to the dink. You get one shot so that is another reason to mark the area with tape or erasable marker...

I had a sign shop cut the numbers out of vinyl, but in negative. This gave me a mask, and I sprayed the hypalon with fabric dye. I'm sure this was 7 or 8 years ago and it still looks perfect.

I went with something very similar to what GoAweigh used but purchased mine at West Marine. I don't currently have a picture of it but it looks identical to the pictures he posted. I am very happy with it and it was easy to apply - a bit costly for the glue but well worth it.
