Xantrex ignition-protected inverter-charger on eBay for $500 new-gctid372114

Since these are so rare, I thought someone here may want it. This is the only IP-rated inverter made, and it's now out of production. I had one in my 2455. Did a great job as both an inverter and charger. Easy to wire as it has its own transfer switch.

Just wondered if you ever read or were told why Xantrex discontinued this model? With the number of gas powered boats and the short cable runs needed on the DC side it seamed like a winner to me.

The Xantrex guys said that nobody was willing to pay that price to do it right. They said people just buy a regular inverter and stick it in the engine room, ignoring the warnings against that.

BTW, you can still buy the "truck" model of this inverter, but it has different connections and requires a little modification to work for the boat.
