If my summer plans work, I'll leave Jam Today in WYC and trailer the little fishing boat up there with this summer to see you all. I will launch either in LC or Killarney, depending on where you all will be.

I got the Alumacraft out for a test run last Sunday. Great morning with dead calm waters and I clocked over 64 mph.

You can run, but you can't hide.

Your boat is very very appealing to me Doug, she is a beauty.

Its called Little Detroit. It is West of Little Current about 40 or so miles.

The water is over 100 feet deep right up to the little cut. Because the approach from the other side is blind, boats give security calls before entering.

Mona is camera shy, but Doug could break any camera, among other things...

Even though we were only there for a weekend cocktail party and fish fry, the memories will last forever, or at least until we go back. As great as Doug's photos are, they don't do justice to the natural pristine beauty of the North Channel...

I'd love to crank it up Doug but I'm currently landlocked. Hopefully the Fox River locks will be open in a short few years. The locks themselves are basically done. There is a lift station yet to be built . This is to keep invasive species out of the Fox River and Lake Winnebago pool but we all ready have them, zebras and various weeds. etc. The locks have been closed since 1987, these species were most probably brought in on small trailerable boats and their trailers. I could have my 38 transported to Lake Michigan but that is more costly than what the budget will allow at this time. I'll enjoy the area via your photos and those of others. Have a great summer!
