  • 1993 Bayliner 2452 Classic dash room for 14 inch screen?-gctid370470

I don't have my boat home yet and I can get a good deal on a Raymarine C140W GPS with a 14 inch screen, so I was wondering if anyone knows if a 14 inch screen will fit on the dash without obstructing my view over the bow? I currently have a Furuno Model 1623 radar and a Furuno sounder also compass and marine radio.:arr

I think that it would be too big, unless you're really on the tall side & can look it over it.

Depends how tall you are and the total height of base bracket + screen case. I'm 6'2" and camera was about chest level. You looking at Standard Horizon CP300i unit which is 5.7"H x 9.9"W plus another 3" for the pedestal. It's no where near blocking my view standing or sitting. I would say 12" screen would easily go in without any visibility problems.

I think that I am going to wait until I get the boat home so I can make it fit with the other units that are already there, the boat is in Fairbanks Alaska which is 360 miles North of where I live and there's a steep icy road that needs to thaw out first. I am hopping for this Saturday (just jonzin)

I put my laptop near the center and it was OK . It only blocked the view of the bow, You might play with a cardboard cut out. It's cheeper and easier to move.

It does not have to be dead center... As on mine, I have so much stuff on the dash and I can see very well over the top of it all. As has been pointed out, if you are tallish, should not be an issue...
