    Stove Safety Issue-gctid368773

So I had a short in my shorepower system, the ground and hot were giving me a shot on everything. I did some tracking today, and found the short in the stove, hmm interesting... I eventually lead myself to this.

As you can see the wire is melted to the side. I replaced the wire and zipp tied them well out of the way now. Just a heads up to anyone that has this. Its the gas/electric dual burner.

Here she is in all her glory.

Oh and thanks for the help carlos.

Typical Bayliner, should have bought a SR. :right Glad you found it as those darn things can take forever to locate. Surprises me that Origo did not use looming or at least a tie wrap or 2. For the price of those stoves, they really are built cheaply IMHO and work rather poorly to boot. Got rid of mine quite a while back. Could try suing the guy on the sticker identified as "PJ". :drama

The same thing happened to mine last year. I was ready to replace the board, but lucky the breaker kicked out first. Good work detective!

What I will do when I have wires getting close to a heat source is once they are bundled is to use some aluminum tape and cover the spots that are closest.

I fought issues with a snowmobile harness getting close to exhaust pipes and once I taped it up this way the reflectivity has kept it good for years.

Ya know I was wondering that myself, I didnt know if it would cause a safety concern. I have some of that tape laying around I may do that myself.

All you have to do is test your outlets for a short with no power running to the boat and the breakers on. If you get a short, you got a problem. I have no idea how long my boat has been like this, it never effected my generator(thank you honda!) and non of my appliances ever had any issues.
