I bought this 2655 recently and it had no electronic equipment on it. I now have a Lowrance 5M Elite GPS Chartplotter and a Garmin 400c fishfinder/depthsounder ready to install. Anyone have any suggestions, tips, advice, etc on where and how to mount these items? Also how to route the transducer wire? The boat seems to be quite closed in and has carpet like material glued on everywhere making it difficult to hide the wires. The windshield is also quite low and steeply angled making mounting the devices on top of the dash near impossible. What are your opinions on the Lowrance GPS and Garmin fishfinder models I have? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'd say the best place is on the opposite side of the dash. That's where my 2 mounts are for the fishfinder and GPS. It's pretty much necessary to have a copilot to comfortably use them though. I wish it had a dash like the new ones where you could integrate them.

Yes there is lots of room on the flat dash area left of the cabin hatch but as you say you would need a co-pilot to use them. They would be too far away to be useful for the person driving the boat; quite a nuisance. Maybe the GPS and fishfinder could be fitted with Ram mounts enabling them to be mounted in front of the driver somehow....anyone have any experience with that setup?
