The Detroit Boat Show will run from Saturday, February 11 through Sunday, February 19, 2012.
I plan to attend and I am wondering who else is planning to attend too. I am not sure yet which day or days I will go. My off days are Wed, Thur, and Sat.

Wish I could go. We went every year that we lived in MI. It has gotten smaller over the past few years. Have fun Rick.

The fact is you are correct. It has gotten much smaller especially the past few years. I can remember when they had the whole 1st floor of Cobo and the basement. Last year they barely had over 1/3 of the hall. Lately most of the boats are pontoons and fishing boats. Very few cruisers. If Bayliner and Sea Ray were not there along with Meidian there would hardly be any boats worth looking at if you are a cruiser.
I'm still going. There is nothing like the smell of fiberglass and resin in the morning to get one up and going.

I didnt know about the boat show, thanks. We already have our tickets for the MSU-UM hockey game at the Joe that night 8:30. Might as well make it a day.
Tough call. I haven't been down there for that since before I became a boat owner. My fear is that I'll leave with a new payment I really don't need. :greedy_dollars:

Agree with everyone else it got really small and the couple of cruisers had a line to get on it.
One show in Michigan I was impressed with was the fall boat show on the water at Metro Beach (Sea Rays, Azimut, Bayliners, etc.) I'll be at that show for sure. Do they have a spring show on the water similiar to that one?

There has been a spring boat show in the past. Can't remember if it still is held.

Not too bad, definitely wasn't crowded from 4-6 p.m.
A few large Cruisers from Bayliner, Sea Ray, Monterrey and Chapparal. One large 45' from Cruisers. I'm glad I went it's amazing how solid the new boats feel and the interior color combinations with wood floors and accents are great.
Just got home from work. I am planning to go later today but if that falls through I will go on Saturday. Glad to hear that Cruisers is there. They have not been there for several years.

I did go yesterday (Wednesday) and plan to go again on Saturday if I can. I am mainly looking at used boats because if and when I get back into boating it will most likely be in a used boat. I found several that if I were in the market today I would want to go and take a look at.
If I were buying new I would definitely be interested in the Bayliner Discovery 266. I would love to have a hardtop in my next boat if possible and the 266 fits the bill. The lone drawback IMO with the 266 is the lack of any kind of hanging locker for clothes.
They had a 335 there. It is a nice boat but it also makes me realize just how much room down below my 3055 had. There is not that much difference in cabin room between the 335 and the 3055. If you have a 3055/305 hang on to it. It is one of the roomiest 30 footers ever marketed.
Still a lot smaller than years ago but still a nice way to spend an afternoon.
