    Hi all,

Newbie to the forum here and hope I get get some good info. I have an older (1995) 1802 Trophy and have finally decided to add a 9.9hp 2 stroke kicker ( I bought an unused 1990 Johnson several years back which was a steal) . I'd like to mount a good and stable bracket on the port side and was looking for recommendations/ and specific installation advice for this boat. I've read a lot of forums about brackets and want to avoid poor installs which may cause damaging stress on the mounting area particularly because I trailer the boat along some pretty bouncy roads here in the northeast. I'd particularly appreciate hearing from any of you with a history with the 1802 with a kicker. Thanks!

First off locate my 1995 2002 W/A in the photo albums and look them over. You not only have a mounting problem but also a fueling problem, i.e., something to hook up to your kicker.

The mounting problem solution is a used and reasonably priced OMC Auxillary Bracket from eBay. Stay far away from those #$%^&*() POS Garrlicks. I got my OMCBracket for around $70 including shipping.

As for fueling, start with a dual oulet Raccor Fuel Filter. One outlet goes to your main motor. Take the second outlet and "plumb" it to an OMC Accumix 2 stroke Oiler (again eBay is your friend here). Then from the Accumix out to your kicker. That way you do NOT have one of those 3 gallon kicker tanks under foot in the back of the Trophy where you play and net fish.

I second the vote for the older OMC kicker brackets. These are available in two versions, one for 2-cycle engines and a heavier duty unit for 4-cycle.

        Thanks for the replies,

JohnQ, Can't seem to find your photos. The more I read the more I suspect a stationary bracket is the way to go although there might be issues with getting the mounting height just right. Any other Trophy owners want to chime in?

The BOC Photo Album link I sent you in the PM should put you right in the middle of them. Here's the Clicky link again -- http://baylinerownersclub.org/galler...2_itemId=11123 The pic labeled OMC Oiler is no longer correct. I Re-located the OMC Oiler to the inside of that hatch door. That way when I need to fill it I just open the door and do not have to reach in and spill trying to fill the tank.

Feel free to look at my pics.I think my mount is a garelic.I like to adjust it depending on conditions it is rated to 30hp.Not sure if it would handle 4stroke of that size.I am quite happy with my 15hp two stroke. The fuel supply is a nipple inside motorwell opposite nipple for big outboard these both come from main tank.Oil tank is behind port transom door over battery.

            Hope this helps.

              I've got a 2004 1802, I've got a garlec mount. I'll see if I can post some pics.
