Nicely done, up north neighbor! Mine is out of storage but I haven't been in the water yet.
If I get up there on my boat, I'll send you a msg here. I'll have to invite you onto my other boat, "Friends Good Will". I volunteer on it during the summer.
With a name like "BZ", were you in the Navy by chance?Justin

@c-ya: We must have crossed paths on the lake. You volunteer/crew on Friends Good Will - I crewed sailboat Elixir out of SJYC last summer. Did Chicago Mac race with them last year.
Started salmon fishing during my last Navy duty station NAS Whidbey (Oak harbor WA)…Lots of Bayliners in PNW. Found what I consider excellent cold weather (Michigan) boat (BAYLINER 2859 with Alaskan bulkhead on other side of state (Lake Erie). Trailered it home and have slipped it in South Haven since 2014.
Friends Good Will is beautiful tall ship! Always a great sight seeing y’all on the horizon during the golden hour/sunset sail!
Msg me if you’re looking to get out fishing or in town.Marc

I think I wouldn't mind doing a race once. I might have to meet up and chat with you about that as I don't know anyone in that circle.
I like heading out to fish when I get the chance, it just doesn't happen very often with the bigger species. My brother- and father-in-law both like fishing the big lake as well but my b-i-l only has a bass boat. We haven't tried mine yet to see how slow we can go, and I don't have any rod holders or downriggers installed. No kicker mounted, but I'm sure I'll need that or a trolling plate. For the price difference, I'll try a trolling plate first. I docked next to a 2152 (I think) in SH two years ago and he had a plate that he loved.
I had to take last season off from FGW due to shoulder surgery but I'm looking forward to being back aboard her this season. I wanted to see what it was like back in the days of sail to see where we as modern day sailors came from. I was on a Tico cruiser, so we had gas turbines (jet engines) for propulsion, and we were made of steel and aluminum. It is awesome being underway on FGW with the wind and water being the only things you hear.
Thanks for the offer on fishing. I'll definitely msg you about that. I'll let you know when I'm volunteering on FGW as well. Maybe we can meet up at the Legion for a how-do.Justin
