There’s a book called “Saltwater Fishing” by John Martinis of John’s Sporting Goods in Everett. The book is gold. It has his fishing maps, what fish when, tackle to use, trolling directions on different tides and a bunch of excellent advice. Read the book, do what it says, where it says, when it’s says and you’ll catch fish. At least that’s our experience. Some of it is simple, some is counterintuitive.

Did you do any good out there? I ran the 9/10 line from about 10 till 2 and had nary a strike. Ran all depths from 60 to 145. Spatter back hoochie, purple haze hoochie, and coho killer for a bit.
Saw one boat net what looked like a pink over by Edmonds, but that was it.

Lazy day for me today, didn’t even start till 1:30-2:00🤣
3 juveniles near Jeff Head, thought about keeping the last one but was hoping for something larger. 55-65 feet using small flashers and coho killers. Regardless it was a great day to be out.

We were out last Sunday and picked up three very nice coho at the south end of Appletree Cove. I was in pretty shallow water near where a bar comes out fishing really shallow, fifteen feet, and trolling at 2.7-9 mph on the gps. We were doing lots of turning to avoid the salt water salad towing a lavender flasher, white buck tail with a salted strip of herring. This week has been dealing with some soft balsa core on the command bridge deck. Yuk!

Sounds like we fished the same area. If I get out again I’ll put one shallow 😁

I have Martinis' book, but he doesn't say anything about Area 8-1 that I could find. We ended up getting our downrigger ball tangled up in a crab pot and had to cut the line :-( Did get a couple of crab though.

                You guys catching fish....????

I thought it all ended up with a thud

I see crab is open again, everyday too, until the end of the year

I take my boat to Leta's Top Shop on the 22nd, to get all new canvas installed....so maybe I can stay a little bit warmer, but these last few days, brrrrrrr....maybe not
