JT mentioned remote filter, changer yes and pre oiler all in one package, it is set up tp pump oil through the engine prior to start up, good after an oil change or winter lay up, gets me to 10 - 15 lbs. of pressure on the gauge, 2nd by flipping 2 valves I can empty the oil from the bottom of the oil pan in to a bucket and of to disposal. Changing filer is a snap double plastic bags to catch the runoff wipe clean and new in place.

Hello . We did our 2452 repower to HYUNDAI SEASALL s 270 .For diesel fuel return to the fuel tank we used tank ventilation hose . Volume of returning is small and this is ok .

Thank s Joon, it is one little step project and on to the next, Ilgvars my tank had a plugged port so not a problem. Still tiding things up lots of details and small things to cover.

I can only imagine, especially when everything completely changes from the OEM set up. doing a fantastic job Fritz, hope you're on the water soon!

Excellent work, I like the your thoughtful approach on all the details. For Example, engine pre oiler is great, had those on some of the Allison race engines I worked on at the Reno Air races. Adding to our house this Montana winter, so my boat time is limited. Rmitch.

I can't tell from the photo; hopefully the pre-oiler pumps through the filter first. Otherwise there's a risk that a pump failure will send debris into the engine oil passages.

Spring is arriving and so are projects and back to my diesel install. The air intake from the OEM is located in the center of the engine on top and came with a wire basket packed with I will call cotton and then fed right in to the turbo, my feeling not the best, the location feeds hot air in and the from the turbo over to the inter cooler to cool it down and the so called air cleaner sucked. To solve this minor issue - aren't the all minor- I set up a cool air intake, starting form the outside intake vent - open on the older 2859 - constructed a box with a square tube down to the air cleaner container, from there aluminum pipe feeds to the engine and in to the intake, so that should take care of the hot - intake problem.

Looks very nice but is that enough flex section in the run since it is coming off the side of the engine?

Wondering the same, is the black colored elbow at the turbo flexible? Installation looks fantastic can't wait to see the you tube video

Does the air filter box have a drain at the bottom?

OK to answer questions, there is flex in all joints including the 90 going in to the turbo I know it is black and not the best picture could not find a blue one. The air box has a drain in the corner and removable lid. In the picture with the box and aft you can see my wash-down pump it pulls water from the OD - old supply hose and is rigged to pump over the side it is recommended by MC. to help cool the drive, and flipping a valve it will feed to the intake strainer as a back up cooling water supply.

Yes but those flex joints are designed for lateral movement but with the way it’s ran the joints are going to be in tension and compression.
