I would like to remove the inboard and engine cover in the cockpit add a pod with a 300HP outboard has anyone made this change

Is it worth it? Depends...
You definitely won't get anywhere near your money back if you have to sell it in a few years. But you will have a very reliable boat for the next 10 years or so with a brand new engine.
Have you looked at any Parkers? They are a California made boat, don't see too many up here but I love fishing from them, huge rear cockpit. https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/...379983896.html

when you look at purchasing a Parker or Seasport 24 ' with outboard power you will spend $100K the 2359 Trophy Pro with inboard 5.7 merc I could get $35k I will spend another $35K and it should be worth
$65K to $70k with the way it is rigged and the Trophy with the pod and 300HP Suzuki would make a very nice package.
