    3818 AC Panel Indicator Lights

Like many of us, most of the AC indicator lights were burned out and better yet, kind of hard to find. I found some LED's on Amazon that would work and bought two packs of ten. The power source green lights were easy, I just had to increase the size of the hole. The fault lights were a bit more challenging. I had seen where some guys had inserted new LEDs through the lenses, but as I began taking one apart I thought about trying to fit the LED's I bought into the old housing and lense. Bingo! Here's the sequence.

Here's our very familiar reversed polarity indicator

I first removed the lenses and center divider that slide out

Then removed the lights and connectors so all I have is the black she'll

    Here's the step drill I used, a #1

    Page two

I drilled holes in the bottom of the original light housing so that the LED's would snap in

Once the lights and lenses were in I made up the connections. One wire from the green led to join with the black AC wire, one wire from each LED to join with the white AC wire, and the other wire is from the red light that connects with the green AC wire

It is nice when the part numbers are included in the post as well, that way we know that they work.

This is on my to do list too. This will make it easy.

          Thanks Pete!

              Very pimpin'!

Not sure where this falls in my project list, but it is one of the several hundred I have planned. Thanks for the write up and part numbers!

                      Gentlemen,
The polarity indicator lights were made by Solico. I have found them on Ebay- The auction number is 112892743095 .
The listing is " Solico red/green indicator light 125VAC 1/3w"
I bought two of these and they work and fit correctly. Only $9 each.
I suggest you get them while they are available-

                            Drew-
I did the same thing- for the price I thought I may as well get them while I can. I was amazed how much brighter they were then the old original units.
