    Fuel Tank Replacement 1992 2452-gctid773321

I wasn't a fun job but we did it right and I am very happy with the way it all turned out, and my local Bayliner Certified shop was impressed by the job we did! More pics in 1st reply to this post!

The other major thing to do if you are crazy enough to take on a Tank change out is to make sure that you change out all your hoses while the tank is out, Sewage, Water, Heater, they are so much easier to change out with the fuel tank out!!

            Very nice job.

Now you are good to go for at least another 25 years.

It is really not that hard. Owners can do the cutting and if not good with fiberglass repair, have a pro reinstall the flooring... the rest is grunt work which we all can do...

of course if your wallet is big enough, then hire it out... But I am sure you could do 80-90% of the work.. That makes it easier on the wallet...

How do you replace the gas tank in a 1995 2452 Bayliner. ?

The original tank was manufactured by RDS in Florida and had the identical tank made by them.

Some people recommend taking the engine out while others are saying to cut the floor.

                    Need some direction. Thank you.

Personally I'd go with pull engine method. There's likely lots of things you'll want to repair, replace, go through etc. and it'll be easier to do with the engine out.

What did you coat your tank with? About to order a replacement for my 2859. Are those rubber straps that you made yourself? How did you attach them to the tank?

                        Absolutely great job you did!
