After sanding down and re-finishing the exterior woodwork (Cetal Marine Gloss over prior seasons Cetal Marine Light) I didn't want to have to maintain the teak steps and opted to replace them with aluminum square tube. I eased the edges with a carbide quarter-round bit on a router, sanded a bit, buffed with a scubbing pad and topped with non-skid. Pretty easy improvement and looks better than worn-out teak.
