  • Off the trailer!-gctid344409

I spent the weekend getting my 2655 off the trailer and on stands. It wasn't bad at all and I was a little overly cautious in the process. After I pulled it I realized that I could have done most of the under side blocking with the trailer gone but I just couldn't stomach hanging out under it without that trailer in between my head and the hull. I'm still considering picking up a couple of boat stands to put up front but I'm 99.9% sure that would be overkill. Total cost was about $100 but I'm going to put some metal straps or strips on the crib blocking to make sure the blocks can't shift so that'll run another $20 or so. I'm sure some will give me a hrad time for using RR ties and tell me how unsafe this is but, knock on wood, it feels VERY stable. I've been in the boat moving around a lot and it doesn't budge.

      Looks solid.

Don't worry about the ties, there is probably 100 million of them sitting on the ground anyway.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. We are expecting a little wind and a lot of rain today so I guess that will be the test. It has really settled well and become even more soldi than the day I did it so I am very confident of the base.
