    Salon Remodel-gctid622646

Here's some pictures of the new bar I built and the new floor installed over the past year or so in out 3870. Lots of work and time invested, thought I might be living on the boat before it was complete. But all in all I'm happy with the revamp, Just have some more trim work to finish. And no more fish scales in the carpet.

          Hey Mike,

Beautiful job. Question: How deep is the cabinet that the Icemaker?? is in?

I don't remember the measurement, but when I'm down at the boat I'll measure it and let you know it could be a month or so before I get there. BTW it isn't an ice maker, I put in a small fridge for drinks. Bought it at Home Depot on sale for $99.

the cabnet comes out from the Stbd wall to within 3" of the engine hatch, that way I have room to get it open with no issues, had to adjust the fridge, first time the hatch hit the fridge, I think my face went to a pale pasty color when that happened but I just moved the fridge back about an inch and al is good. Also on top of the bar I put a cubby hole hatch like what is in the galley so the dead space in the cormer is usable.

Looks very nice! I am always looking for ideas. What did you use for the flooring?

                  Very nice. My compliments.

From what I can see of your flooring, it looks to be of the same high quality workmanship. I love to see these projects and the ingenuity that goes into them.

I'll take some more pictures after this United Steel Workers strike is over.

                    Thanks for all the comments.

The flooring if Alure snap lock from home depot, in the teak color, it says to let if float, I glued it down. No problems yet the worse part was getting the sub floor smooth to my liking so you couldn't see and imperfections in the sub floor. Belt sander and hours on my knees, get a belt sander that you can hook up a shop vac.

Very nice work, I really like the fridge, doing away with the ice maker is something I'am not ready to do yet, I still remember all the trips to the marina store for ice. That does make great use of the space, the one thing I've thought that would be a improvement for a liveaboard is a trash compactor in the place you've put the fridge..
