New to Site and Just Bought a Bayliner-gctid356188

I just bought a 1991 Bayliner 2255 Ciera with a 5.0 Merc in great condition! This site has been a real big help with my choice to buy this boat and talking to my Dad when he told me I should stay away from Bayliner... It sure shut him up real quick when I asked how he got his opinion on Bayliners when he has never owned 1...hahahaha! He deals with my Uncle all the time getting onto him for buying a Reinell because Cobalts are way better built then the Reinells (my Uncle owns a Cobalt and never owned a Reinell) I have always wanted a 2255 since the 1st time I came across 1! Cant wait to get it out on the lake! I live in Salt Lake City, UT and do my main boating on lakes around here and go atleast once to Lake Powell every year! I love the Bayliner designs of their cruisers! I had a 1986 SeaRay 210 Seville Aft Cabin with a OMC Cobra with a 4.3 basically the SeaRay's version of the Bayliner 2155. I loved that boat but the Bayliner's design and set up for exterior and interior is so much better and nicer for boating! I cant wait to get this out on the water! I loved the Cobra drive but decided to go Merc this time mostly because its what came on the boat! hahaha! But I am hoping that having a Merc will make keeping the boat long term easier!

Congrats on your boat purchase. I always liked those 2255's. Just the right size and loved the style with the molded swim platform. I was looking for one when I bought my boat, but decided to get a smaller bowrider for boating on the smaller Colorado lakes. Now I wish I had one to take to Lake Powell. My dad bought a 1987 2450 and we had that as our family boat for years. We used it on Lake Powell many times.

Enjoy your boat, and post some pics if you get a chance.

Can't wait to get out on the water. I think (hope) the 5.0 is big enough. Happy to be part of the club!

Plenty big enough. It's the base engine in the 245 Express Cruiser.
