    Hi Nutsy,

    This is a good idear to have a spare!!!

    Can i ask if you are going to mount the spare in the trailer? If so how do you plan to do this.

    Has anyone else done this and how have they mounted there spares?

    isnt the 80D a D rated tire?
    Nope

    st175/80D13c

    ST = trailer tire

    175 = 175mm section width

    80 = 80% sidewall aspect ratio

    D = Bias Ply

    13 = rim diameter

    C = load rating

    size is st175/80D., load is 1100lbs. is this wrong tire? tire says B rated. JUST LOOKED AND TIRE THAT CAME WITH TRAILER IS RATED C. I dfont even see a D in the trailer ownwers manusl in a 175
    B is definitly wrong.

    1100x2 = 2200

    Your boat weighs:

    1847 dry

    170lbs of fuel

    300-400lbs of trailer?

    Plus anything else you carry in the boat

    = 2300lbs minimum

    C Rated gets you 2720lbs of capacity - maybe that is factory for a 175

    Mine is a 195 classic that weighs 2091 dry and came with D rated tires from the factory

    well, i found a spare tire at of all places, LOWES. its a CARLISLE tire which is a good one with a white steel rim. only $95.00. thought it was a pretty good deal.
    You found a D rated tire in that size at lowes? I'd double check the load rating on that tire you just bought.

    The C rated will be around 1,360-lb

    D rated will be around 1,610lbs
