    Hi All,

    Im going to buy a Stiletto Advantage II prop in 14 1/4" X 19P for my Bayliner 175 with 3L Mercruiser and an Alpha One. Wondering which hub kit I need to buy to go with it?

    If I get this; http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...DE-501&i=39477

    and this; http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...800319&i=17430

    is that what I'm after and will suit my application?

      Try here. This is where I bought mine.http://www.dansdiscountprops.com/BuyNow/stilettoA.cfm

      Part number 800319-501

      It comes with the correct hub for Mercruiser.

      $269 plus shipping (around $15).

      Note: Those that wish to replace the OEM prop with the Stiletto Advantage II 14 1/4 x 19p may need to modify the Lower Trim Tab Fin Anode as the blade will not clear the stock anode. The oprions are to buy a flat or off-set anode or notch the existing one. I chose to notch the existing one using a dremel. It worked very well.

        Hi Capman,

        Thanks for the response. I had come across that website but he won't ship to me here in Australia :-( . Iboats and Overtons appear to be my only real option so I think I'll be giving Iboats a try for my first order. Unfortunately they are out of stock on the new style with the guardian hub so Ill get one with an inbuilt hub like this;

        Will I need a different thrust washer? or will my current one from my Quicksilver laser II suffice?

        Cheers,

        Chris

          Howdy kidafa,

          When I received mine, the hub kit was packed with the prop in it's own box. It did include the washer. I haven't seen a model with a built in hub. As long as it is for a Mercruiser Alpha One, it should be fine for the fit. I wonder if the inbuilt hub is composite. That is what saves your drive unit if you hit something that stops your prop. The hub breaks allowing your prop and the drive shaft to spin independently of each other.

          I did read about a shortage of the Guardian hubs and that the HXS hubs were being substituted. I tried to find the site again, but was unable to. If that is what they are doing, HXS is a good product also. Let me know how it works out.

          Happy boating,

          Capman
