I am a newbee, so be kind and gentle. I have a soft spot at the rear of the ski locker. After finding and reading some of these thread things, I am trying to prepare for the worst. In looking for stringer wood, I noticed a product at Lowes called PVC Board. It is 3/4" thick, and comes in varies lengths and widths. Could this material be used as stringers? Wouldn't ever have to worry about rot again. It is rot and water proof. Just don't know about strength to the hull or holding up the decking. Hope this isn't a dumb question, just curious about it

I can't say for sure, but I doubt it will work well. I don't see the fiberglass resins really adhering to the PVC boards in a way that will really give you the strength that you need. There are other products like Nidacore that kind of offer the same benefits of never rotting, with only a few drawbacks, depending on which product that you use.
Of course, most of my fiberglass experience comes from automotive adventures like bodykits and speakerboxes so far, although I will be doing my Capri sometime in the next year or so, so I have been studying in the ways of the boats, lol.
