Strong gas odor

Boat was docked after fillling it posibly over fill

After a week it still was there so i Removed cover to look and there was gas on the filll line about half way down the 11/2 line

Could that be from expansion or maybe over filling?

Any suggestions ??

Is the 1.5" line a fill hose or vent hose?

I would replace both fill hose (1.5") and vent hose (5/8).

15 year old boat can develop a pretty bad case of ethanol damage in these hoses, and it can be extremely dangerous.

That's what I did on my boat, never had a gas smell, just saw the deterioration and replaced them for my peace of mind.

Pressure test the fuel tank to 3 psi.

Pressure testing is a good idea, but if the fuel leak is visible on the fill line it is probably not necessary. As mentioned before, I'd replace both lines, fill and vent. You may find that the vent is corroded. Consider replacing it as well.

Do not start the boat until you fix the leak, mop up any spilled fuel, and rinse the bilge.

i read it as the fill hose is filled to the brim.
