    BR 175 cover leak issue-gctid813675

Ever since buying my boat I have had issues with rain water leaking into the boat around the walk through in the windshield. Last year, I removed the snaps on the front cover that fit onto the inside of the folding windscreen and altered the outside snaps so the front cover would fit over them and under the windshield cover. It doesn't seem to have helped much. We have had a lot of rain in the past couple of weeks and the carpet in the boat is constantly wet near the walk through. Does anyone else have this issue and has anyone found a way to prevent water getting in short of putting a second cover over everything?

My Dad and I have had plenty of boats and plenty of covers over the past 50 years. When it rains, some water gets into the boat. Boats are designed to get wet.

I accept it as a fact of life.

Might be worth getting a 1-piece cover for the boat...when you think about it, a bow rider really should have a 1-piece cover..

I leave both snap covers on but cover over everything with a 1 piece cover from Costco. Serves a few purposes:

        1. keep those expensive OEM snap covers from fading in the sun.

        2. better rain protection

        3. keeps the bird poop off better too, lol

Yeah, I'm thinking a cheap one-piece cover might be the answer. I'm concerned about the deterioration of the carpet and plywood floor more than anything.

I tried numerous solutions to fix this. Finally I gave up, bought a sewing machine and made my own one piece cover. Not too difficult and has worked like a charm.

The latest generation of 185 / 175 are horrible for letting rain in. seems to be the way the top sides of the hull are molded. I think its one of the improvements on the VR series.
