    prop reccomendations-gctid391541

i finally got to take my boat out and it ran perfect on the secondaries this time but it seems under propped. the engine says 4000rpm sustained rpm and 4400 max wot.

what i get is about 10mph per 1000 rpm the boat will will do 4000 rpm pretty easy on about 3/4 of the primaries but when i open it up it will spin 4700rpm wot and probably more but i didnt let it. it is a 305 omc chevy engine in an 88 1950how many steps in pitch should i go up with it or should i go up to a 4 blade prop. any good recommendations from anyone else with the same kind of boat.

When I had my OB 21' I ran a 19p at high altitude (I'm in Colorado) and a 21p at low altitude. What are you running right now?

not a prop guru but i until you know what WOT really is you won't be able to make a good guess. I think the engine is rated 4400-4800 WOT.

Hope some of the prop-gods can chime in.
