Which Smart tabs 60 or 80-gctid386267

Hey guys I have a 185 with a alpha 1 and 3.0L. Going to order trim tabs looks like either the 60 lb preasure or 80 lb preasure would work. Which all do you guys recomend.

I originally ordered the 60 lb actuators.

Then I tried the 80 lb, but they were way too much for my boat.

I put the 60's back on and all is good.

I know all the guys with a 175 and 3L recommend the 40 lb.

I would think that the 60 lb would be heaps strong enough for your hull.

I have the 185BR with the V6 190hp. From what I read the 60lb was what I was going to go for when summer arrives down here.

I have the 60's on mine on the lowest setting, love them and highly recommend the difference is substantial.

No "Smart Tabs " for me.

I like to control my ride .

                Me Too.

I heard a lot of good things, just don't need holes in the transom and more things that will wear out and break. Besides I seem to do just fine with out them.

Fair enough but how do you control the slow speed wander, that is my issue, you just can keep the boat in a straight line without constant helm input.

This is the main reason 'm looking at installing Smart Tabs.

If the 185 responds like the 175, the tabs will nearly eliminate the wander. It won't be totally gone, but enough that it is not really an issue anymore.

If anyone from Aust. wants a pair of 80 lb actuators, I have a set sitting on the shelf gathering dust.

                      PM me.

This is just part of being a boat owner. I've owned many boats, never had one yet that you could just point in a direction and idle in a straight line. My 185 is much better than my 2455 was, but it still requires a hand on the wheel at no-wake speeds.
