What year is your Capri? I have a 2000 2655 I am about to repaint the seats but can't decide what shade. I've seen Carver White and now Ranger Off White as possible matches, but you would think the Sea Ray White would be best since its made by Brunswick just like the Bayliner.

In looking for reviews of SEM I found the following in response to someone who was unhappy with their results:

"Did you use the SEM vinyl and plastic prep spray or the SEM adhesion promoter? You should have done a bit more research on plastic and vinyl prep. Clean the part with Dawn and warm water and dry well, wipe with a good grease and wax remover with a clean lint-free cloth, spray and wipe with the SEM vinyl and plastic prep spray, spray liberally with adhesion promoter and then apply one LIGHT coat of SEM paint while the adhesion promoter is still wet. Wait fifteen minutes between coats and apply up to four coats. You can also wipe the part with a tack cloth to remove any lint or particles between steps of the prep phase stated above. Follow these steps and you'll have great results. Also, DO NOT touch the part with your bare fingers during any of the prep phases or you're asking for poor results and adhesion problems."

I got the SEM color samples. The Bayliners Cruisers of the era 2455, 2655, 2855 are an exact match for Carver White.

I did find a trick I didn't think would work from some "bloody deck" fisherman so I may not even bother "painting" the seats. Do your best to clean the seats using simple green and magic eraser. That will get it looking 85-90% better. Then here is the trick, soak a rag in hydrogen peroxide lay it on the top of the seat then VERY imporant cover it with saran wrap or buy the extra fine plastic clear painter drop cloths they sell at LOWES in the painting ilse and TAPE IT ALL DOWN so its more or less air tight to prevent evaporation of the peroxide. Let it sit like that for 3 days at least, I think I did 5 days just because I don't visit my boat in the marina often. Pull it up and it will look pretty much new!

If I did go the painting route, use all their prep products, and I've read a trick after it all dries rub it down lightly with 3000 grit sandpaper and that restores the seat feel to exactly like new.

I emailed SEM customer service for the color sample sheet but never got anything, either samples or reply telling me to bug off. Is there another department I need to contact?
