Removing Bottom Paint to Restore Gel-Coat-gctid377612

The PO had the bottom painted on my '06 175 because he kept it in a slip in saltwater. We now trailer and I have not touched the paint job by re- painting it.

Now, three seasons later it's wearing off and I want to get rid of the paint. I know the boat will look better without it but I'm not sure how to go about this...or if it's even possible to remove the bottom paint and restore the gelcoat.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Giving birth is easier than reincarnation. May be just easier to paint it. They had to scuff the surface to make the paint stick. I just did that to mine and you can't see the new paint. Maybe select a color closer to the original I would guess white.

They do make a fairly glossy white bottom paint. Can't temeber the brand off hand.
