Bayliner is back in cruiser business!-gctid622974

I just read an announcement in a Turkish Marine magazine (Naviga, Feb'15 issue) that a new Bayliner cruiser model, the Ciera 8, is now being offered in Europe. I also checked on the web and found this link; Apparently it was announced in October'14.

So, it took Bayliner 2 years to reverse their decision to pull out of the cruiser line everywhere except South America (Brasil) and it is now offering cruiser models in Europe again. This is what I had suggested their dealer in Turkey, that cruisers are big business in Europe and whereas it may not be worth their while to keep a factory open in the USA ,where the market for such cruisers is shrinking, it may make sense to manufacture these boats elsewhere (e.g. Europe or South America) and ship them back into the USA, if when demand develops. I wonder if/when the new Ciera 8 will be available in the USA.

    Enjoy!

This is a long story and I am typing on an iPad...

In brief, the cruisers are coming back to the U.S., likely as niche models. The 8 is coming first, and depending on how well it does there are up to two more models coming. The Ciera 8 is an extensive redesign of the 255.
