getting notifications of new replys on topics I am not subscribed to and have no interest in...

for the past couple weeks I have been getting a higher than normal amount of notifications from threads that I have never opened.... most of these threads have no interest to me, which is why I never opened them, and some notifications are from NEW threads that were posted since my last visit to the site....

when I click on them so that I can un-subscribe from them, it shows that I am not subscribed to begin with..... what can be done to stop the unwanted notifications? thanks

There is a setting in your user profile regarding notifications. I’ll look it up in a bit to help, but it is in your user settings.

No clue why it changed for you, mine is the same, I do not get any notifications except PM.

after resetting all my preferences, I am still getting notifications that " (insert random members name here) made a post on your subscription" and then the title of the thread...... I have not even opened the thread EVER, nor am I following any of the members of this site, that may generated a response about something they posted somewhere.....

there is a glitch somewhere in the system and you are welcome to access my account to see what is going on.... there are 3 notifications showing now (that I have not deleted) I have never opened and NOT /never have been, subscribed to.... maybe you can figure out why.

I DO want the notifications concerning threads that I have made a post on, or otherwise participated in, but the notifications from random threads are unwelcome....especially when there can sometimes be 12 -15 random notifications, but usually 5-8 notifications is what I see

one thought I have.. even though I primarily access my BOC account from my PC, I have recently gotten a new phone (android), could it have any effect on what notices is posted to my messages?.... and if this is possible, why doesn't the settings show on my BOC user settings?....
I rarely use the phone to access my BOC account, and have never set preferences from my phone, not this one I have now, and not the phone that I have had for the past 6 years...

Let me know what I can do to help figure out the problem... Thank you

Can anyone help with this issue? I did not subscribe to the majority of posts that I am receiving notifications for as if I subscribed to them. I've checked my settings several times and find no reason this is happening. Have I missed something?

I show 15 notifications for new posts to "subscribed" threads - many of which I have not even looked at, much less subscribed to... Any solution to the clutter?

the large number of notifications I had continued, and remained on my page for about 6months, and the notification number kept increasing, until the notifier said I had about 87-90 messages.... but the folder had no messages in it, and the notifier wouldnt go away... then it finally disappeared one day and has been working ok ever since....
