Greetings, all...I’m a lifelong sailor, but noobie power boater. Will be taking delivery of a brand new F18 this week. We live in the Orlando area and intend to use the boat on the St. John’s River and surrounding lakes. In addition, we keep our sailboat, an Endeavour 37, berthed in the St. Petersburg area (Gulfport) so will be taking the boat out that way and running inshore to the beaches and sandbars while using the big boat as “home base” ... Hope we’ve purchased the right boat for the job...a little fishing and a bunch of swimming, picnicking and just hanging out in a beautiful place and enjoying the sea and sky.

Question...what is your opinion on installing a transom saver on the engine when rolling down the highway...motor is a Mercury 115 4 stroke.

Glad to be here...hope we can all share lots of good information...

Wouldn't be a bad idea although I have the same boat and haven't had any issues
