    Possible new Trophy!

I currently have a 1995 Trophy 2002 with 1996 Force 120, but might be trading up to 1990 2302 with twin 2000 115 Johnsons. Is there anything specific I should be looking at on the 2302 before agreeing to a trade? Motors are in good shape so I am not worried about them. More so the hull and not knowing what to look for on this model. Any help is appreciated as I am going to try to view the boat as soon as possible. Thanks!

Pressure test the fuel tank .

There is a cheap device that measures moisture for the transom.

By the way those Johnson's are maybe the best outboards ever made.

Do a compression test on them, ask when the impellers were changed, also when the lower was resealed last, t-stat changed etc.

    Fresh water boat ?

    Came back to edit :

    See this one ?

Chief Alen, thats the one I am looking at. They are looking to go down in size and I am looking to go up in size. Our boats are worth roughly the same give or take some goodies on them. I am still hesitant if I want to go with duals or not but I am liking the thought of reliability since I want to start venturing further out.... Its was a brackish/bay boat that was always trailered according to the owners. What is the device called for the transom moisture test? I will buy one ASAP. And am I able to pressure test the fuel tank myself, or do I need to have a marina/mechanic do that for me? Thanks for your help Alen.

Simple matter to pressure test the tank.

Pull the vent hose off the tank, install a short pice of hose on the tank and then a gauge on the hose.

Pull the hose off the fuel filter and block it.

Put 3-4 psi no more into the schrader and let sit.

If the tank holds air for a hour or so your good.

Home cheapo or any plumbing supply house will have cheaper ones harbor freight.

Not sure if the owner will agree to me pressure testing their tank, they may not want to or may want a dealer to do it.... But that moisture meter can read through the fiberglass? If so, I am buying one!
