    E16 Transducer location

Planning a transducer mount this spring. I'm going to use a SternMate system. No holes in the transom and adjustable after the install, unlike the SternSaver.
Anyways... I'm thinking of installing it like... straight down from the splash well scupper. So looking from the back of the boat while it's on the trailer, this would be just about at the edge of the bunk board going towards the motor.
What I'm curious about is if anyone who has theirs mounted in this area can read the bottom at speed. Drifting or trolling I'm sure is no problem, but do you lose it when you get up on plane?

The concept of an M hull design is that they lift and the points of contact are more like the center line and the sponsons. I'm wondering if they lift enough that the transducer would lose contact or be in water that has so much air entrained in it that it can't read bottom.
Working...
