Typical issues that will prevent a hull from planing out:

..... marine growth on hull bottom
    ..... incorrect gear reduction.
    ..... prop damage.
..... engine not receiving correct progressive and total ignition advance .
..... issues with fuel delivery system.
    ..... stern heavy hull
    ..... over-loaded hull.

How long have you owned the boat?

When was the last time it behaved completely normal?

Where does it sit most days of the month?

          Does it have trim tabs?

When trying to get up on plane are you placing it to WOT and then backing off so you can maintain your desired speed once you are on plane?

Your login indicates you are new here. Welcome. Is the boat new to you? Did you sea trial it? Just curious if this is a new problem or a new boat for you?

I acknowledge that you presently have no check engine light on or any codes.

If you have done all the things within your power to "correct" any possible discrepancies, then it is time to go to a Mercruiser technician.

Engine parameters including fuel pressure need to be monitored with a scan tool during a sea trial.

MAP, Inj pw, TPS, MAF, o2 voltages, IAT, ECT, etc all need to be monitored.

A professional knows what they should look like as you go from idle to WOT to some percentage of throttle while cruising.

I had a similar problem to you when my boat was brand new.

My new boat, after 20 break in hours, struggled to pull me up on one ski.

I had a faulty demand sensor, that even when the throttle handle was pushed all the way forward, only commanded about 80 percent throttle.

My WOT top speed was supposed to be about 48-49 mph (4800-5000 rpm) but I could only achieve 41/42 mph at a much lower rpm.

Once that sensor/assembly was replaced, the boat performed well.

During this painful process I had no light and no codes.

Good luck and I am sorry this has happened in the middle of your boating season.

You mentioned in one comment that you just weren't getting the rpm's. WOT in your boat should top out at 5000 rpm's and 33 kts. I had a loose spark plug wire once that kept me from topping out and it never sent any alarms.

I know..... I know.... this is my pet peeve.

              RPM = revolutions per minute.
              Revolutions is plural!
              Minute remains singular.
