I am the proud owner of a recently purchased 1988 Bayliner center console. The boat is 18.5 feet long with bow rail. After some research, I found it came with a Force 125 hp, but now has a 115 hp Evinrude motor. I am in the process of re-wiring the boat, replacing the fuse panel and old inoperative switches. Boat runs good and is very stable. I plan to "attempt" to make a windshield for it. I was looking in forward access cover and saw what looks like a weak, or thin area, in hull. I tapped it and appears solid, but I may lay a layer of 'glass over it anyway. This will be my retirement project and plan restore it eventually. Still cannot get tach to work, but it was wired wrong and probably fried. The boat was painted with a red and black stripe, but has the blue under the red paint. There seems to be a lot of Bayliner "haters" out there so I am relieved to have stumbled upon this website. I will be picking your brains for info, so bear with me if ask a lot of questions. I bought this boat to use and enjoy. Look forward to talking with everyone.
