Hi Guys and Gals,
I have been boating for 20+ years, mostly bow-riders. The past 10 years I had a 2005 Yamaha SX 230 HO. Great boat. I will miss it.
I brought home a very low hour 2007 Discovery 246 last week.
Some mods that I will be doing before summer comes are:

Remote control for the radio.
2- 100 watt Solar Panels:
2- Trojan batteries (or equal type)

Great site.
Russ

Yes i will be trailering the boat. We usually launch the boat in Cashmen park Newburryport and make our way down to Cranes Beach or Gloucester for some Seafood. I am also looking forward to a trip to the Erie Canal and Lake Champlain. It's only a 3 hour drive away.

Hello russ,

Welcome to the 246 world. Next month I expect to be a proud owner of the same boat but on the opposite coast in WA state (use to live in MA). What do you plan to charge with the solar panels?

I have 2 group 31 house Batteries. They only weigh about 5 LBS each and are flexible. At 42"X22" they will fit on the roof, I just have to move the horn.
