I would like to find an alternative to spending $252.36 for 24" of hose. Will this hose in 3" make the same bend as in the pic??? And actually it needs to bend just a little farther when the trim is up.

From my experience no it will not bend the 180 degrees you are needing it to. It will collapse.

No I made the choice to cut the old one off and trust someone that said they had it...To lay down $250 is starting to look like I dont have a choice.. This is just an attempt to find a less expensive way to fix my issue... Its a 3" I.D. If I cant find something I guess Ill just order it online, I did find a shop in lake placid, Florida that has the hose for $176 plus shipping... I still need to call them monday and verify stock..

Looks like a universal lower radiator hose. They usually have a stainless coil spring inside to prevent colapsing, as they are on the suction side of the radiator.
Bring the hose to your local NAPA shop and maybe they can ge one for about $20.

Is this part of your exhaust system?
If exhaust, here is a make-shift money saving idea for you....... possibly!

Volvo AQ series exhaust bellows rarely fail. Thus, they are generally cheap in the used market.... probably twenty dollars or so.
They are also extremely close to a 3" ID.
There are also soft and flexible and are "beaded" on the interior lip.
(look closely, and you can see the bead...... it's the same at each end too!)

Relaxed while straight, they measure approximately 7" each.
Mildly compressed while straight, they measure approximately 5" each.
Mildly stretched while straight, they measure approximately 10-11" each.
They are each capable of a very tight radius.

What about taking three (3), good used, V/P AQ series exhaust bellows and making a connection to join them together?
(it would take about three, and yes, I laid three of them out just for kicks)
They are extremely flexible and would very likely make the radius that you need.
You could even use one with the built in Flapper!

Good idea bounty, that will be on my list, however I talked to a marine shop in hillsboro and he says he can get the part new for $105... If he cant I also found a guy in hermiston that said he can do $200, I know thats a little more than the 176 I found online but it is somewhat local and easier to deal with a return if I needed to put up a stink for some reason.:kidding.. Also if I could find a 3" 180 degree coupler two of those might work great.. Whatever I do it needs to be quick as july 4th and oaks park firework show might be cool to watch from a boat????

See my first question in post # 8.

Question # 2 if the answer to question # 1 is yes: Do the parts that this attaches to need to articulate any? (I presume so since it appears to provide a "bellows" type action.)

I too thought immediately about radiator hose when I saw the picture but I highly doubt you'd find those in a 3" diameter. Best I've seen locally is like 1.5".

We still don't know what the application is... :)

It's the exhaust bellows for his '91 Force 90 HP L-Drive.
